Breakfast & Coffee
Start with Coffee at Little Joy Coffee: Every perfect day begins with coffee, and Little Joy Coffee is the best place to kick things off. They serve up crafted lattes, seasonal drinks, and pastries. Grab your coffee and a kids hit cocoa, and head out to the patio.
Stroll the Riverwalk to the Riverwalk Market Fair
Right outside Little Joy Coffee is the Riverwalk-a beautiful path along the Cannon River. On Saturdays from the spring to the fall, you’ll find the Riverwalk Market Fair. The Market Fair is a mix of art, local produce, handmade goods, and live music. It’s the perfect spot to pick up a bouquet, some fresh baked bread, or a unique gift while enjoying the river views.
Shop Along Division Street
Next up, make your way to Division Street, Northfield’s charming main street filled with independent shops. Some of my must-stops:
Cool Off with Ice Cream at The Blast
After shopping, treat yourself to a scoop (or two) from The Blast. This retro-style ice cream stand is a local favorite and perfect for the kids and adults.
Lunch
Lunch at Tanzenwald Brewing Company: For lunch, head to Tanzenwald Brewing Company, a spot with craft beer and a delicious menu. Whether you’re craving a big pretzel, a juicy burger, or cheese curds, you’ll find plenty to love here. Sit outside so the kids can play on the grass while you enjoy your beer!
End with Nature at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park
To finish off your Northfield adventure, take the short drive out to Nerstrand Big Woods State Park. A peaceful forest filled with wildflowers, a natural play area, and hiking trails. The star of Nerstrand is Hidden Falls! Take the short walk to the Falls before heading home for a nap. It’s the perfect ending to your day!
